The move follows a landmark five-year agreement to broadcast F1 races in the United States, first announced in October 2025.

Apple has integrated a dedicated Formula 1 channel into its Apple TV application, expanding the platform’s motorsport content following the recent box office success of its F1 blockbuster film. The new channel serves as a centralized hub for the upcoming racing season, which officially commences with a kickoff event in Australia next month. It features distinct placeholders for practice sessions, qualifying rounds, the main grand prix, and a weekend warm-up show, providing a structured interface for viewers to navigate the race weekend schedule.

The company announced a five-year agreement to broadcast Formula 1 races in the United States last October, though specific details regarding the production format had remained sparse until now. The Apple TV channel includes a section titled “Event Schedule: Sky Sports,” indicating that Apple intends to utilize the existing commentary feed from Sky Sports rather than assembling a proprietary broadcast team. This mirrors the strategy previously employed by ESPN during its tenure holding the F1 broadcast rights. A representative for Apple declined to comment on the matter.

Beyond live race coverage, the channel hosts archival and preparatory content, including highlight videos from the 2025 season and a detailed recap of the regulatory changes scheduled for the 2026 season. Apple confirmed that select races during the 2026 season will be available to watch for free. Access to the full suite of content requires an Apple TV subscription, which now bundles the F1 TV Premium streaming package at no additional cost. The F1 TV Premium service provides comprehensive access to all races, alongside exclusive behind-the-scenes footage such as driver-specific camera angles and live team radio communications.
