Apple plans hardware announcements including upgrades to the entry-level iPad, iPad Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air, according to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter. A product launch is slated for as early as the week of March 2.
Gurman reports, “A product launch is currently slated for as early as the week of March 2.” This timeline aligns with Apple’s pattern of spring hardware releases in recent years. The announcements follow Apple’s October unveiling of the M5 MacBook Pro, which introduced the M5 chip exclusively on the 14-inch model.
Upcoming releases will bring the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips to new MacBook Pro models. Gurman specifies that these include refreshed 14-inch and 16-inch versions. A new MacBook Air will also launch as part of the event.
On the iPad side, a new entry-level model will incorporate the A18 chip, enabling support for Apple Intelligence features. Separately, the iPad Air will receive an upgrade to the M4 chip, enhancing its performance capabilities.
Following these initial announcements, updates are expected for the Mac Studio and Studio Display. Gurman indicates these products will receive refreshes after the March event.
A Mac Mini refresh is planned later in the year. Additionally, Apple is developing its first low-cost MacBook, as previously reported by Gurman, with a release in the very near future.
