Skylight unveiled the Calendar 2 at CES 2026, a digital family organizer that merges calendars from multiple services and manages household tasks through software and AI features, evolving from the company’s original digital picture frames.

Skylight initially developed digital picture frames but has shifted emphasis to family organization products. The Calendar 2 presents a sleeker design compared to the original 15-inch calendar model. It measures smaller than the 27-inch wall-mounted Calendar Max. Users swap the frame for various colors to align with home décor, similar to the larger model.

The software and AI capabilities define the product’s primary value over the screen hardware. The central calendar function aggregates schedules from family members’ accounts across platforms including Google Calendar, iCal, Microsoft services, and youth sports applications such as TeamSnap. Color coordination distinguishes each individual’s events for quick visual reference.

The system imports events from non-digital sources like emails containing dates or paper flyers from school backpacks. An AI process activates when users photograph these items, automatically extracting and adding the events to the unified calendar.

Skylight targets additional family management needs, including grocery lists, appointment reminders, meal planning, and recipe suggestions. When idle, the device displays family photos.

The companion app prioritizes readability with straightforward navigation and vibrant colors. Imagery supports use by young children, who identify pictures to mark completed chores without reading skills.

Parents utilize the app for meal organization, entering basic plans such as designating Tuesday for taco night. The tool accommodates detailed recipe searches and shopping list generation from selected recipes. Skylight produces ingredient lists automatically and integrates them directly into the Instacart application for ordering.

Another AI function analyzes photographs of refrigerator contents to recommend recipes utilizing available ingredients. This feature streamlines meal preparation by matching existing stock to suitable dishes.
