Sony Honda Mobility will stream its CES 2026 press conference live from Las Vegas on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET via the Afeela official YouTube channel. The event centers on electric vehicles from the Sony-Honda joint venture, highlighting the Afeela 1 model.

The press conference occupies the traditional end-of-press-day slot at CES. Unlike past Sony events that covered electronics, video games, and Hollywood studio plans, this gathering narrows to electric vehicles. Sony Honda Mobility, the partnership behind the Afeela 1, takes the stage. The Afeela 1 has appeared at CES in multiple forms over nearly a decade.

Sony first unveiled the vehicle as the Vision-S prototype at CES 2020. Since that debut, the car evolved into what is now known as the Afeela 1. Various incarnations of the model have been displayed at subsequent CES events, building anticipation through iterative showcases.

Sony and Honda bring PS5 gaming to the Afeela EV

Key specifications emerged in recent years. The Afeela 1 carries a starting price of $89,900. This figure positions it in the premium segment of the electric vehicle market.

Early impressions of the Afeela 1 drew criticism. Engadget automotive expert Tim Stevens evaluated the vehicle earlier this year. He stated that the EV “feels like a PlayStation 4 in the PS5 era.” Stevens added that “the car lost what little interesting styling it had while sticking true to some specifications that sounded good five years ago.” These observations held as of CES 2025.

The CES 2026 booth expands beyond the Afeela 1 alone. Sony Honda Mobility detailed the display in a press release. It will feature “several Afeela 1 pre-production vehicles in multiple color variations, alongside a new Afeela concept model.” These pre-production units represent advanced stages toward production. The color variations allow visitors to view diverse aesthetic options. The new concept model introduces fresh design elements from the joint venture.

Attendees and viewers can anticipate details on recent updates to the Afeela lineup. The press conference and booth displays may also reveal Sony Electronics products scheduled for 2026 release. The live stream will appear on the Afeela YouTube channel, with embeds available on relevant sites once posted.
