Motorola announced the integration of Microsoft’s Copilot Vision into its Moto AI suite, extending an existing partnership, making the feature available on select Moto AI-enabled devices in specific countries, while also preinstalling the Copilot app on upcoming devices.

This integration brings Microsoft’s AI-powered computer vision technology to users with compatible Motorola smartphones. The company detailed that Copilot Vision will be accessible on select Motorola Razr and Motorola Edge series devices. These devices include models available in the United States, India, and other global markets where Copilot Vision is already active. Accessing the feature necessitates either establishing a new Copilot account or utilizing an existing one. Functionality of Copilot Vision relies on an active internet connection, specifically requiring Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity, given that it operates as a cloud-based service, not an on-device feature. Microsoft maintains oversight of the feature, meaning its terms and conditions along with its data collection policy are applicable to the use of Copilot Vision on Motorola devices.

A notable distinction of Copilot Vision on Motorola devices is its capacity to access the device’s camera. This allows the feature to analyze the user’s immediate environment and generate responses to queries based on these visual inputs. This specific capability is not present in the desktop iteration of Copilot Vision. The mobile version also incorporates a real-time two-way voice mode, facilitating hands-free interactions with the AI chatbot. Regarding user privacy, Motorola stated that Copilot Vision operates as an opt-in feature. The chatbot does not gain access to the device’s camera or microphone until the user explicitly activates the feature. Users also have the option to test the Vision feature’s capabilities prior to signing into their Copilot account.

The introduction of Copilot Vision on Motorola devices positions it in direct competition with Google’s Gemini Live. Both AI assistants offer comparable functionalities, including the ability to interpret visual information and engage in real-time interactions. While specific details on the Moto G06’s integration with these features were not provided, the device has appeared on multiple certification sites, and specifications suggest it may incorporate a 5,100mAh battery.
