Infinix has announced its entry into the tri-fold phone market with the Zero Mini Tri-Fold, featuring dual vertical hinges that allow for a versatile three-way fold. The company’s concept phone will be showcased around the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, scheduled from March 3 to March 6.

The Infinix Zero Mini concept features an outward-folding design that allows it to transform into various forms, such as a compact phone, a fitness gadget, or a portable camera setup. This unique design enables the device to be attached to fitness gear and bikes, enhancing its functionality.

The dual-screen setup of the Zero Mini is optimized for multitasking, capable of displaying content simultaneously, which is particularly useful for real-time translation and communication purposes. The device includes a dual-camera setup on the back and a punch-hole camera on the inside for selfies.

One remarkable accessory for the Zero Mini is a special strap that enables it to be mounted on different surfaces—including gym equipment, bicycle handlebars, and car dashboards—thus facilitating hands-free use. The dual-camera setup also allows the device to double as a professional-grade camera, providing high-resolution images while utilizing the second screen for optimal framing.

Currently, the only commercially available triple-fold smartphone is Huawei’s Mate XT, launched in September 2024 and released globally in February 2025. Infinix has not disclosed full specifications or details about the Zero Mini’s availability but anticipates revealing more at the MWC 2025.

Samsung has been exploring the triple-fold market as well. Rumors suggest that Samsung’s upcoming model, potentially named Galaxy G Fold, could feature a large 12.4-inch display when fully unfolded, surpassing the Mate XT’s 10.2-inch display. In addition, it may include a partially unfolded mode with a 10.5-inch screen and a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera.

As it stands, while Infinix is poised to follow Huawei in the tri-fold space, Samsung’s official launch details for their models remain speculative, with indications of a possible release later in the year.
