This fall, Apache Flink will host a two-day conference in Berlin, featuring content for both the existing Flink user community and potential users hoping to get a feel for the tool. Flink Forward will feature parallel presentation and training sessions – tackling both the informational and hands-on aspects of working with large-scale data analysis.

Flink Forward 2015: The First Conference for Apache Flink

Flink Forward participants can expect an enriching experience as part of a growing ecosystem and community of developers and data scientists worldwide. Highlights will include:

  • Technical presentations on Apache Flink
  • Use case presentations for Big Data projects using Apache Flink
  • Presentations about related Big Data projects in the Apache ecosystem and beyond

Prior knowledge of Flink isn’t required for attendance at Flink Forward. In fact, Apache assumes attendees don’t have knowledge about the programming environment and intends to provide the ideal introduction to harnessing its benefits.

Among the confirmed keynote speakers are Kostas Tzoumas, co-founder and CEO of data Artisans, Stephan Ewen, co-founder and CTO of data Artisans, and William Vambenepe, lead of the product management team responsible for Big Data services on Google Cloud Platform.

Flink Forward will take place on October 12-13 at KulturBrauerei in Berlin – the city where the Flink project began.
