AI-powered call screening will be available on several older Samsung Galaxy flagship devices alongside the launch of the Galaxy S26 range and One UI 8.5.
A Samsung representative confirmed that the Galaxy S25 range, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Galaxy TriFold will receive the call screening feature with the upcoming software update. This confirmation extends expectations beyond the Galaxy S25, which was the only model specified in the original announcement.
Galaxy Updates reported that while the initial post only mentioned the Galaxy S25, it is commonly assumed that other devices are included because they are expected to receive One UI 8.5 simultaneously. However, there is no official confirmation for the call screening feature on those models, which introduces uncertainty regarding even older devices’ access to the new feature.
One UI 8.5 is anticipated to begin rolling out within the month for the mentioned devices, with updates for older models expected to follow closely thereafter. The rollout timeline suggests that Samsung may prioritize newer devices, raising questions about spam call management for consumers with older or budget models.
The evolving situation highlights the potential for broader implementation of call screening across Samsung’s device lineup, as users express a desire for the feature to help manage spam calls. One UI 8.5’s rollout will mark a significant step in enhancing user experience across Samsung’s flagship devices.
