Apple discontinued the Mac Pro desktop computer, which was last updated in 2023.
The decision removes the company’s modular desktop offering from its product lineup, leaving the Mac Studio as its highest-end professional computer.
The computer is no longer listed on Apple’s website or in its storefront, according to 9to5Mac.
The Mac Pro’s current iteration was introduced in 2019, featuring Intel chips and expansion slots. Apple began transitioning to its custom M-series Arm chips in 2020.
The company updated the Mac Pro to the M2 Ultra chip, but did not update the computer’s design. The Mac Studio, introduced in 2022, also supports the M2 Ultra and has received subsequent updates.
Bloomberg reported in November 2025 that Apple planned to retire the Mac Pro.
Apple also offers the recently announced Studio Display XDR, which replaces the Pro Display XDR originally launched with the 2019 Mac Pro.
