At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Samsung unveiled the HW-QS90H soundbar, an all-in-one model featuring a Quad Bass Woofer system that eliminates the need for a separate subwoofer, delivering 7.1.2-channel audio through 13 drivers.

Samsung maintains its practice of updating the Q990 soundbar annually at CES, with the 2026 event following this established pattern. The company introduced the HW-QS90H as a distinct all-in-one alternative prior to the full show schedule. This model targets users seeking comprehensive audio performance without additional components. A hands-on demonstration allowed early evaluation of its capabilities amid the pre-event activities.

The HW-QS90H supports 7.1.2-channel audio configuration, utilizing a total of 13 drivers to produce immersive sound. This setup includes specialized components for various directional audio elements. The system’s design integrates bass reproduction directly into the soundbar unit, distinguishing it from traditional setups that rely on external subwoofers.

During the demonstration in a noisy demo area, the soundbar produced strong bass output from its built-in subwoofers. The low-frequency response remained audible and distinct despite surrounding ambient noise. This performance suggests suitability for smaller living rooms where space constraints limit subwoofer placement.

Samsung incorporates two Quad woofers in the HW-QS90H. Each Quad woofer pushes air in two directions simultaneously, enhancing low-end tone production compared to single-direction drivers. This bidirectional airflow mechanism contributes to the robust bass levels observed in the demo.

Complementing the woofers, nine additional drivers handle front, side, wide, and upward-firing sound directions. These drivers ensure detailed audio reproduction across mid and high frequencies, preserving clarity in vocals and effects. The arrangement maintains balance between bass depth and overall sound precision characteristic of Samsung soundbars.

The HW-QS90H employs Convertible Fit Design technology, first introduced on the QS700F model the previous year. This feature enables placement flat on a shelf or mantel, or rotation for wall mounting. Built-in sensors detect the orientation and automatically adjust driver performance accordingly, compensating for positional changes to sustain consistent audio output.

In the hands-on session, repositioning the soundbar from flat to rotated orientation showed no detectable variation in sound quality. The automatic adjustments operated seamlessly, upholding performance standards regardless of installation method.

Externally, the HW-QS90H mirrors the QS700F with matching grille patterns and control layouts. This visual consistency extends to the overall aesthetic, facilitating integration into similar home setups.

Samsung has not disclosed pricing or availability details for the HW-QS90H. Such information typically emerges shortly before the product launch date.

CES 2026 occurs in Las Vegas from January 4 to January 9.
