LG will unveil its first Micro RGB television, the LG Micro RGB evo, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, introducing a backlight technology with individually controlled red, green, and blue micro-LEDs for expanded color reproduction.

The company released preliminary details about the LG Micro RGB evo ahead of the event. Micro RGB represents a screen technology that replaces traditional white backlight lights with micro-LEDs capable of emitting any hue through precise control of red, green, and blue elements. This design delivers a wider color array compared to displays relying solely on mini-LEDs.

The technology positions itself between the pixel-level lighting precision of OLED panels and standard mini-LED screens. It provides an upgrade in color performance over conventional mini-LED implementations while maintaining advantages in scale and control.

The LG Micro RGB evo incorporates an upgraded AI upscaling engine to enhance image quality across various content sources. Intertek certification verifies that the television achieves 100 percent color gamut coverage in BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB standards, as stated in the company’s press release.

The display includes more than a thousand dimming zones, enabling detailed brightness control and contrast management throughout the screen.

Samsung introduced its Micro RGB model earlier this year at a price of $29,999 for a 115-inch size. LG’s versions come in smaller dimensions: 100 inches, 86 inches, and 75 inches. Pricing for the LG Micro RGB evo remains undisclosed but is anticipated to reach high levels despite the reduced sizes.
