Google has introduced the Mous Pixel Watch Charger, the first Google-certified third-party charging accessory for the Pixel Watch 4, available for purchase directly from the Google Store at $49.99. The product addresses previous limitations by using official Google hardware.

The charger, spotted by 9to5Google, incorporates official Google Pixel Watch charging hardware. This design ensures compliance with Google’s established safety and performance standards, a feature absent in prior third-party Pixel Watch 4 chargers. Such integration guarantees reliable operation aligned with Google’s specifications.

The Mous Pixel Watch Charger delivers 5.6 W fast contact charging. Product listing details specify that users must connect it to a 7.5 W or higher USB-C power source to achieve this full charging speed. Lower power inputs would result in reduced performance levels.

A key component is the dual-part authentication IC. This system involves authentication chips in both the charger and the Pixel Watch 4. Prior to initiating the charging process, these components mutually verify each other’s identity. This verification confirms the charger’s official certification and suitability for safe use with the device.

The charger employs pogo-pin contact charging technology. The pogo connectors facilitate modular upgrades and enable compatibility with additional Mous charging accessories. This setup allows for future enhancements or expansions within the Mous ecosystem of products.

Compatibility is restricted to the Pixel Watch 4 exclusively. The charger does not function with earlier Pixel Watch models, limiting its application to the latest iteration of Google’s wearable device.
