Samsung has initiated the final major operating system update for the Galaxy A73, a device released in 2022. The update to Android 16 featuring One UI 8 is currently deploying to users in select Asian countries, fulfilling the company’s original software support promise.
The Galaxy A73 was launched running Android 12 with a commitment for four major Android updates, making the current Android 16 release its last. The new software is identified by the build number A736BXXUAGYJ1 and is a 2.5 GB download. The package also incorporates the September 2025 security patches, which are noted as being nearly two months out of date upon release.
Users in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam can now install the update by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and selecting Download and install. Samsung expects the rollout to expand to additional regions in the following days and weeks.
