Suno has released version 4.5 of its AI music creation tool, bringing significant improvements across various areas, including expanded genre options, enhanced vocals, and a new prompt-enhancement helper. The update was published on May 6, 2025, according to an article by Graham Barlow.

The new version allows for more cohesive results when combining genres, enabling users to explore unique sounds such as midwest emo with neosoul or reggae. Additionally, Suno 4.5 can better understand and translate user descriptions, capturing more nuance in the details and resulting in richer vocals.

A notable feature in v4.5 is the prompt-enhancement helper, which assists users in writing more descriptive and evocative prompts, leading to better-sounding songs. The maximum song length has also been doubled from four minutes to eight minutes.

To access the new v4.5 model, users need to be Suno subscribers, with plans starting at $8 (about £6 or AU$12) a month for the Pro plan. However, non-subscribers can listen to music created in Suno 4.5 using the Suno app by looking for the ‘Best of v4.5’ heading.

Free users can still create up to 20 songs using the v4.0 model and 10 songs a day using the older Suno 3.5 model. The reaction to v4.5 has been positive, with users praising the improved sound quality and reduced degradation issues.

Some users have reported that while there are still some issues, such as the inability to specify song length and tracks sometimes cutting out, the overall improvement is noticeable. Reddit user Its-Mee-Lousci expressed being “blown away” by the results, while Tirekicker4Life noted a “definite overall improvement” in song quality.
