Sony began rolling out the PS5’s latest system software update last Friday. Users will see fully displayed activity details along with new parental control options and improved stability.

Following the rollout of version 25.02-11.00.00, players will notice more comprehensive activity details shown on cards. Yes, this includes those beloved spoilers, which will remain hidden to preserve enjoyment. Because who doesn’t enjoy a good surprise?

The update also introduces Unicode 16.0 emojis, allowing for richer messaging within the console ecosystem.

Parental controls have been refined. With the parental restriction level set to “Late Teens or Older,” the “Communication and User-Generated Content” function will automatically default to “Restrict.” Note, however, that existing settings for this level will remain unchanged and will continue to display as “Customize.”

The update quietly improves system performance and software stability and tackles usability issues in messaging and various screens.

Xbox games on PS5 and Switch 2? Get used to it

This latest rollout follows January’s update, which also focused primarily on performance and stability tweaks. Such updates indicate Sony’s commitment to continuously refining the PS5 experience.

In other Sony news, the company marked the 20th anniversary of the God of War series by releasing the Dark Odyssey cosmetic DLC for God of War Ragnarok. Rumors are swirling about a potential Greek side-story as well.

Additionally, Sony confirmed the upcoming release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, scheduled for June 26, exclusively for the PS5.
