Stealth startup Lab0 emerges with a robotics solution that plans to revolutionize warehouse operations. After two years in development, the company has unveiled RoboGlide, an industrial humanoid-inspired robot system designed for fully automated inbound warehouse logistics. Lab0’s technology integrates multiple stages of the process into a single, unified, and scalable system, from unloading shipping containers to product identification, damage detection, weighing, sorting, palletizing, and even wrapping.

RoboGlide is already deployed at a top-10 single-price-point small-box retailer. It leverages a team of top robotics talent, NVIDIA’s Isaac Lab, and NVIDIA Omniverse for physical AI learning and simulation, as well as advanced AI and machine learning. It employs a simulation-first design approach to achieve AI-powered precision in logistics automation.

A Customer-Centric Approach to Automation

Lab0’s automation strategy is laser-focused on solving real-world, customer-specific problems. RoboGlide’s patented dual-arm picking robotics, advanced Percept0 vision system, and intelligent decision-making capabilities streamline the handling of diverse inventory while significantly reducing inefficiencies. These innovations create a scalable logistics framework that sets a new industry standard for autonomous logistics design, development, and integration. Unlike many automation providers offering “point solutions,” Lab0 takes a holistic approach, providing complete system solutions that address the full scope of customer challenges. Recognizing that existing off-the-shelf vision and motion systems fell short of their requirements, Lab0 developed their custom systems to achieve the necessary speed, accuracy, and reliability.

Lab0’s first customer, a $30 billion small box retailer and one of the largest importers of goods into the US has already integrated RoboGlide as part of a broader initiative to optimize warehouse operations. Lab0’s modular and scalable technology allows for seamless expansion across distribution networks, a key advantage over traditional material-handling solutions.

Lab0 was founded by David McCalib, an MIT alumnus and robotics pioneer who was instrumental in integrating Amazon’s acquisition of Kiva Robotics and leading advanced computer vision projects. Steve Toebes, CEO of Lab0 and a founding innovator at Symbotic, brings decades of experience delivering transformative robotic systems. McCalib and Toebes combine deep robotics and logistics expertise with a relentless focus on simplicity, scalability, and customer success.

“Our work begins with listening to customer needs and delivering technology that solves their most pressing problems at scale,” McCalib said. “Everything we build reflects a commitment to real-world impact and tangible results.”

The Vision: Supply Chain Zero

Lab0’s “Supply Chain Zero” initiative is a bold vision to eliminate logistics inefficiencies, waste, and redundancies. Its mission aims to support sustainable, efficient, and future-proof operations in industrial environments by combining AI-driven automation and real-time analytics.

“Lab0 is more than a robotics company – it’s a movement to transform logistics,” Toebes said. “Our RoboGlide system is the first in a suite of flexible, modular solutions designed to work seamlessly together, automating entire facilities and delivering meaningful results for our customers.”

As labor shortages, rising costs, and complex logistics challenges intensify the need for innovation, Lab0 is poised to showcase its industrial humanoid-inspired system at ProMat 2025 and NVIDIA GTC 2025. With a steadfast commitment to Autonomous Logistics, Lab0 signals a new generation of robotics innovation.
