The upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature a notch instead of the Dynamic Island, as confirmed by display analyst Ross Young. This device is expected to adopt a “notch like the iPhone 14,” which contrasts with earlier leaks suggesting it would include the Dynamic Island feature.

Discussion surrounding whether the iPhone SE 4 will feature a notch or Dynamic Island has emerged from conflicting reports among leaks. Recent dummy models of the device appear to indicate support for the notch design.
The iPhone SE series has historically reflected older iPhone designs. Previous models have lagged behind Apple’s contemporary design trends, with the first iPhone SE based on the iPhone 5S’s slab-sided look, while the current model incorporates an iPhone 11 chip within the casing of an iPhone 8, complete with a Home button.
However, the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to adopt a more modern aesthetic, resembling the iPhone 14 and discarding the large chin and Home button featured in the third-generation model. Notably, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a single rear camera and a notch at the front, aligning its design with the iPhone 14.
In contrast, leaker Evan Blass recently claimed that images representing the iPhone SE 4 showed signs of a Dynamic Island, despite expectations leaning towards a notch design. Blass has shared images that suggest a Dynamic Island presence, indicating potential visual aspects from the device.
Conversely, leaker Majin Bu has provided evidence that supports the notch design, sharing photos and a video of a dummy model that places the selfie camera on the left, consistent with the iPhone 14’s layout. Bu stated that while Apple had considered a Dynamic Island design, it has ultimately opted for the notch.
Rumors indicate that the iPhone SE 4 will closely follow the design of the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 featured a notch instead of a Dynamic Island; hence, many speculations align with the expectation that the iPhone SE 4 will adopt a similar design structure. Alleged screen protectors for the iPhone SE 4 further corroborate the presence of a notch rather than a Dynamic Island.
With the introduction of the iPhone SE 4, Apple is also set to phase out Touch ID from its lineup, transitioning to a Face ID-only approach across all iPhones. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to include a 6.1-inch display, a single-lens rear camera, 8GB RAM, and an A17 Pro chip capable of supporting Apple Intelligence. Current rumors suggest that the device may be launched in the spring, likely in April.
