Amazon has integrated its Luna game streaming service into the Prime Video app, enhancing its visibility for users. The rollout starts today for Fire TV devices in the US and UK, allowing Prime subscribers to access games alongside movies, shows, and live TV. A new Games tab will facilitate this integration, which Amazon intends to expand to additional countries and devices over the coming months.
Prime subscribers can access Luna games at no extra cost using a phone or controller. Currently, popular titles available include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fallout 4, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Control, and Dispatch. EA Sports FC 26 is also offered, alongside family-friendly options like Clue, Ticket to Ride, and Taboo. Amazon refreshes the game lineup every month.
According to Amazon, the addition of games to Prime Video “makes it easier for members to go deeper into their favorite franchises.” For instance, the recent release of the Masters of the Universe movie aligns with the availability of the related game, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite, within the same app.
This move is viewed as a strategic step for Amazon, aimed at increasing user engagement with games included in the Prime subscription. As gaming hardware prices continue to rise, the integration informs Prime subscribers that they can enjoy high-profile games without significant investments in hardware.
This shift coincides with Netflix’s advancements in cloud gaming on television, highlighted by recent game launches such as Unhinged and a World Cup game. Netflix reported that these games were among its most successful cloud game debuts.
