OpenAI has begun rolling out an update to ChatGPT that enhances its capability to schedule tasks for the future. Users can now access a new Scheduled page in ChatGPT’s sidebar, which displays active tasks and their scheduled run times. From this page, users can pause, edit, or delete upcoming requests.
OpenAI stated that the improvements to ChatGPT’s scheduled prompts make all tasks faster and more reliable. Users can instruct ChatGPT to complete tasks at specific times or during broader timeframes, such as morning, afternoon, or evening.
The scheduled tasks feature is available to Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on both web and mobile platforms. OpenAI has noted that users can set up monitoring tasks, allowing ChatGPT to proactively search the web or connected apps on their behalf. However, there is no information on when the Free tier will gain access to this feature.
The update also marks the discontinuation of the Pulse feature, which provided personalized daily summaries. Pro users can continue to use Pulse for 14 days following the announcement. After this period, they will be able to utilize the new scheduling hub to generate future summaries.
