Netflix is developing a feature film based on Asmodee’s board game, Ticket to Ride. The project marks the game’s first on-screen adaptation.
Alan R. Moon, the creator of Ticket to Ride, will serve as an executive producer for the film. Ben Mekler and Chris Amick are writing the script.
Ticket to Ride is a turn-based strategy and route-building game with a train theme. It was initially released more than 20 years ago.
The game has sold over 20 million copies and has translations into more than 30 languages. It has previously been adapted into a video game.
Netflix plans to greenlight multiple projects, including TV, film, and other formats, based on the Ticket to Ride intellectual property.
