Apple is planning to launch its iPhone 18 range in two phases in 2026, according to a report by The Information, citing supply chain sources. The Pro versions of the iPhone 18 are expected to be released in fall 2026, while the less expensive models, along with a new version of the iPhone 16e, are slated for spring 2027.
The report also suggests that a new foldable iPhone may be released in fall 2026, alongside the Pro versions of the iPhone 18. This move is part of Apple’s ongoing product diversification efforts.
The decision to split the launch is reportedly linked to Apple’s plans to diversify its product lineup and manufacturing. The company is exploring the production of cheaper iPhone 18 models in India to reduce its reliance on China for manufacturing, amid the impact of Trump’s tariffs on its margins.
Apple is also working on a slimmer version of the iPhone, rumored to be called “iPhone 17 Air,” which is expected to be launched this year, as per Bloomberg. A successor to this model is anticipated in 2026, according to The Information.
