Gloo has announced a new set of trust standards and the formation of a trust advisory group to promote AI technologies aligned with human flourishing. This initiative is part of Gloo’s broader Open AI strategy, which includes open access to AI models, datasets, and research to advance ethical AI development.
Establishing AI standards for human flourishing
The newly introduced Flourishing AI (FAI) standards evaluate AI models across seven dimensions: relationships, finances, happiness, meaning, character, health, and spirituality. These dimensions were developed in collaboration with the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard, Barna Group, and other faith-based organizations.
To ensure measurable outcomes, Gloo is launching the Flourishing AI benchmark, a system that assesses AI models using over 1,000 curated questions. This benchmark aims to provide a standardized evaluation of AI’s impact on human well-being.
“Trust in AI is twofold—it must be high-performing, dependable, and secure while also aligning with ethical values that promote collective human flourishing,” said Pat Gelsinger, chairman at Gloo and former CEO of Intel.
Gloo’s initiative is supported by the Global Flourishing Study, a five-year international research effort led by Harvard, Baylor University, and Gallup. This study, covering 22 countries and over 200,000 participants, has helped shape the dimensions of human flourishing now being used for AI evaluation.

“After years of rigorous research into what supports human flourishing, it’s promising to see these insights shaping AI evaluation standards,” said Tyler VanderWeele, professor at Harvard.
Additionally, Gloo is working with Protestant, Catholic, and ecumenical faith organizations to ensure AI applications align with ethical and spiritual principles.
To oversee the implementation of these standards, Gloo has established a trust advisory group consisting of experts in AI, security, privacy, law, academia, and theology. The group will provide guidance on ethical AI development and help technology companies align with human-centered values.
“These standards ensure AI is not just high-performing but also helps people reach their full potential,” said Scott Beck, CEO of Gloo.
