US defense technology company Shield AI announced a collaboration with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) to co-develop artificial intelligence for autonomous flight operations. The partnership, unveiled at the Singapore Defense Tech Summit, aims to enhance the RSAF’s operational capabilities through Shield AI’s Hivemind Enterprise, a suite of AI-powered autonomy software.

The collaboration will focus on integrating Hivemind Enterprise, described as a platform for rapid development and deployment of autonomous systems across domains. The software suite includes tools for designing, testing, and scaling autonomous behaviors, middleware, and mission control systems. Shield AI stated the technology could accelerate the creation of mission-ready solutions for defense applications.

Brandon Tseng, Shield AI’s President and Co-founder, emphasized Singapore’s role as a “forward-thinking” US ally and a leader in Southeast Asia’s defense innovation. “This partnership underscores the global demand for intelligent autonomy at scale,” said Tseng, a former US Navy SEAL, during a tech talk at the summit.

DSTA CEO Ng Chad-Son highlighted the goal to drive breakthroughs in drone autonomy. “By combining partnership expertise across sectors, we aim to push AI innovation for enhanced operational effectiveness,” he noted.

Shield AI, founded in 2015, develops autonomous systems for military use, including the V-BAT drone and Sentient Vision Systems’ motion imaging software. The company has offices in the US, UAE, Ukraine, and Australia, and its technologies are deployed in allied operations worldwide.

The announcement reflects growing international interest in AI-powered defense solutions, with Hivemind Enterprise positioned as a scalable tool for militaries and governments.
