The beauty industry keeps talking about a brand-new product from Dyson called the Supersonic Hair Dryer. At the moment, it is available only to professional stylists. What is so peculiar about it? This hair dryer automatically adjusts the temperature and speed of the airflow depending on the nozzle used.

Because of its shape, the Supersonic Hair Dryer is nicknamed a pipe, not a hair dryer. However, this bizarre feature helps stylists avoid developing tunnel syndrome. In this article, we have collected impressive facts about the revolution in Dyson appliances and its brilliant market strategy.

Secrets behind the name

The founder of Dyson Enterprise, James Dyson, is a British inventor and entrepreneur who graduated from the Royal College of Art, where he studied industrial design. James created a fast cargo ship at his first job that could dock at an unequipped seashore.

The desire to make functional things that perform their job impeccably led the inventor to another key decision. In 1979, James noticed that the vacuum cleaner almost stopped working because the bag was clogged with dust. Equipped with this knowledge, Dyson replaced the dust bag with a cardboard funnel. Thus, it happened to be the first vacuum cleaner without a dust bag.

Thorny path to the stars

To make his dream come true, James Dyson got into debt, mortgaged his house, and negotiations to purchase his idea from large-scale corporations ended in refusals.

Only in 1986, the Japanese company Apex Inc. launched the production of the G-Force vacuum cleaner, developed by James Dyson.

However, not all projects of the famous inventor have become commercially successful bargains. In 2019, Dyson abandoned the production of electric cars, since the project was financially unattractive.

Many successful enterprises on the market would add a proper name to their title. For instance, movers Boston, a top moving company around Boston and its area, has added the name of the biggest city to underline its remarkable reputation and the area of service. In the case of Dyson, the name of the inventor is directly associated with chic care products and an exclusive approach.

Dyson hair dryer: Experiments

According to one version, the hair dryer appeared thanks to Dyson’s wife. The inventor liked to talk to his wife Deirdre while she was getting ready and drying her hair. However, the noise of the device interfered with normal communication. So James decided that it would be nice to make the hair dryer silent.

It is interesting to know that testing was carried out on cats. In this way, Dyson wanted to demonstrate a minimum noise level that does not frighten even pets. That is why at the presentation in 2016, the first user of the Dyson hair dryer was a cat.
