If you're a current or former customer in the U.S. who opted for Verizon's postpaid wireless or data services and have paid an administrative charge or an administrative and telco recovery charge between January 1, 2016, and November 8, 2023, you might be eligible for the Verizon administrative charges settlement

Regarding the Verizon administrative charges settlement, if you have been a Verizon customer in the last seven years and purchased a traditional postpaid wireless plan, there’s a chance you might receive a monetary compensation in 2024. This is due to a $100 million class action lawsuit settlement where Verizon agreed to make payments following allegations that its service plans were misleading. The core issue was that the advertised prices did not reflect an additional administrative charge.

The class action lawsuit accuses Verizon of deceptively and unfairly implementing, charging, and increasing an administrative fee for its postpaid wireless or data services, as per the lawsuit documents (PDF). In response, a Verizon spokesperson, in a statement to CNET, maintained that the company has always transparently identified and described its wireless consumer Admin Charge at various stages, including sales transactions, marketing, contracts, and billing. They emphasized that this charge is crucial for the company to cover certain regulatory compliance and network-related costs.

To understand more about the Verizon administrative charges settlement, including eligibility criteria for a payment of up to $100 and instructions on how to file a claim, further details are available. Additionally, for insights into how the Biden administration is tackling junk fees, more information is provided in the same context.
