Update: If you’ve come across the best friends list planets concept or are wondering what this new planetary system is all about, keep reading. We’ll explain everything in detail.

Despite losing its popularity over the years, Snapchat is trying to get its users’ trust back by revealing new features and offerings. Recently, the company rolled out a new solar system theme that was appreciated by many fans, while some didn’t understand what was going on. If you have no idea what it is, keep reading because today we will explain the Snapchat planets meaning.

Snapchat’s latest future confused many users, but it actually has a very simple meaning. The new Snapchat planets feature allows you to check how near you are to your buddies. Every friend has a planet that represents them, and the closer you are to a friend, the closer your planet is to theirs. Let’s take a deeper look into the Snapchat planets meaning!

Understanding the best friends list planets concept

Snapchat’s best friends list planets feature might sound like something complicated, but it’s actually a fun way to visualize your friendships in the app.

Think of it this way: you and your closest friends are like planets orbiting around each other in a social solar system. Each planet represents a friend, and the closer their planet is to you (the Sun), the closer they are in your best friends list. It’s Snapchat’s playful take on ranking friendships and making things a little more fun for Snapchat+ users.

Now, let’s break it down with a few examples. Say your best friend Sarah is represented as Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun. This means you guys snap each other constantly, share memes all day, and are basically inseparable in the app. Then there’s your buddy James, who shows up as Jupiter, a bit farther out. You still chat regularly, but maybe not as much as you and Sarah. And finally, you’ve got Emma chilling as Neptune on the outer edges of your social solar system—maybe you two snap every now and then, but not as often as the others.

Snapchat’s way of letting you see who you’re most connected to, without the traditional list format. It adds a bit of fun to tracking your friendships.

Snapchat planets meaning for Plus members

If you use Snapchat, you may have seen certain symbols with planet-like shapes next to the names of your friends. These aren’t just any emojis; rather, they are showing your closest friends in a galaxy theme.

As a Snapchat+ subscriber, you will notice a gold ring around a “Best Friends” or “Friends” badge on someone’s Friendship Profile. ‘Best Friends’ indicates that you are among each other’s eight closest friends, whereas ‘Friends’ indicates that you are in their eight closest friends, but they are not in yours.

Each planet in their solar system corresponds to a different place on their list of Best Friends, and tapping the badge reveals which planet you are in their solar system. You are their third closest buddy, for instance, if their friend is the Sun and you are Earth in their solar system.

The Snapchat planets meaning is not very complicated, as the company is trying to keep everything very simple to improve user experience.

How does it work?

You must have Snapchat Plus in order to view your friends’ planets on Snapchat. Open the app and navigate to the friend list after getting a Plus membership. Hover over to the top right of your screen and tap the “+” button. You will see an option that says “See Your Friends’ Planets,” and that is how you check out all of your friends’ planets.

  • Mercury: Closest friend
  • Venus: Second closest friend
  • Earth: Third closest friend
  • Mars: Fourth closest friend
  • Jupiter: Fifth closest friend
  • Saturn: Sixth closest friend
  • Uranus: Seventh closest friend
  • Neptune: Eighth closest friend

For all your planetary friends, you can use Custom Pins Cheap to express your gratitude to them. For friends on different planets, you can design pins with the corresponding planet logo as gifts for them. Or you can design elements that only you and your friends understand on these pins. These custom pins are not only a gift, but also a symbol of your precious friendship.

What are other Snapchat Plus features?

Now that you know the Snapchat planets meaning, let’s move on to the other features that are offered for Plus members. Snapchat has rolled out many features exclusive to the Plus members, including Snapchat My AI, and the company continues to add more.

You may access unique, unreleased, and experimental features as a Snapchat+ user. You can explore more deeply the areas of Snapchat that you use the most thanks to these features, which improve and personalize your experience with it.
