Judges described it as “An impressive accomplishment – the extension of a successful treasury workstation application into a mobile realm. New and better solutions for treasury managers to serve their clients are likely to evolve from programs like this.” In 2014 alone, CitiDirect BE Mobile securely processed over $400 BN transactions worldwide, tripling its 2013 volumes.
This recognition is particularly significant as this year marked a new record in competition, with over 800 entries across nine categories being received by the GSMA. Entries were judged by more than 300 independent experts, analysts, journalists, academics, and in some cases, mobile operator representatives.
“This is a real honor,” said Naveed Sultan, global head of Citi’s treasury and trade solutions business. “We are truly proud to be the first bank to win this prestigious award, which has traditionally been dominated by technology, fintech and telecommunication companies.”
