Judges described it as “An impressive accomplishment – the extension of a successful treasury workstation application into a mobile realm. New and better solutions for treasury managers to serve their clients are likely to evolve from programs like this.” In 2014 alone, CitiDirect BE Mobile securely processed over $400 BN transactions worldwide, tripling its 2013 volumes.

This recognition is particularly significant as this year marked a new record in competition, with over 800 entries across nine categories being received by the GSMA.  Entries were judged by more than 300 independent experts, analysts, journalists, academics, and in some cases, mobile operator representatives.

“This is a real honor,” said Naveed Sultan, global head of Citi’s treasury and trade solutions business. “We are truly proud to be the first bank to win this prestigious award, which has traditionally been dominated by technology, fintech and telecommunication companies.”

CitiDirect BESM delivers new user-friendly features including a portal environment and a convenient single log in that gives you one-click access to multiple applications. The new interface and navigation are more intuitive and provide a more streamlined and customizable electronic workflow. CitiDirect BESM includes all the same CitiDirect® functionality and tools but provide easier access to the key tasks.

John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd. said, “Our winners are in the esteemed company of the mobile innovators, pioneers and leaders that have won these coveted awards over the last two decades, many of whom have been game-changers in transforming the way that the world communicates.”  CitiDirect BE Mobile’s entry was described by judges as, “An impressive accomplishment…New and better solutions for treasury managers to serve their clients are likely to evolve from programs like this.”

CitiDirect BE Mobile is intuitively designed for the global corporate treasurer’s busy, on-the-go lifestyle, providing an integrated solution across cash and supply chain management.   As part of Citi’s digital strategy and focus on innovation, CitiDirect BE Mobile was developed in the Citi Innovation Lab in Dublin, leveraging a dedicated team of experts and best-in-class technology. While the NFC and mobile money award went to Dialog Axiata, Edumobi won the best mobile innovation for education and learning award for EDUMOBI Mobile Learning Network at the MWC 2015. Jasper and ZTE won the awards for best mobile innovation for the ‘internet of things’ and the best mobile enabled consumer electronics device respectively. Motorola 360 grabbed the award for best wearable mobile technology amongst other awards.
