At Dataconomy we had the honor to host the final stop on the Chefrunde Studytour 2014 together with Hitfox Group and Applift at their San Francisco office. Chefrunde Studytour is a weeklong study trip that connects editors and executives from leading media outlets in Germany (national and regional newspapers, magazines and publishers) with the tech community in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area.
Learnings from being in Silicon Valley
The main topic of the evening was around learnings from being in Silicon Valley and how business is done differently here compared to back home in Germany, our joint home base. Openness to new ideas, entrepreneurial mindset and employee participation, willingness to experiment coupled with a ‘fail fast fail forward’ culture, flat hierarchies and an international environment were just some of the factors highlighted.
The vivid discussions went on over dinner and yielded some interesting insights on both sides and maybe some new perspectives to take home to Germany. Looking forward to the next edition of Chefrunde Studytour!
