Google has unveiled Nano Banana Pro, an image generation platform also known as Gemini 3 Pro Image, as part of its recently launched Gemini 3 model. The tool aims to enhance visual creation by improving upon prior versions through advanced features in design quality, control, text handling, and knowledge integration.
The platform processes user prompts to produce images with studio-level precision. Google describes it as capable of turning visions into studio-quality designs with unprecedented control, flawless text rendering, and enhanced world knowledge. This upgrade addresses limitations in earlier tools by providing more reliable outputs across various applications. Developers at Google focused on refining the underlying algorithms within the Gemini 3 framework to achieve these advancements.
A key enhancement lies in text rendering capabilities. Nano Banana Pro generates context-rich infographics and diagrams that incorporate detailed textual elements seamlessly. It overlays legible text onto pre-existing images, supporting the creation of items such as posters. This functionality operates in multiple languages, allowing users from diverse linguistic backgrounds to produce accurate and readable content without manual adjustments.
Composition features enable the blending of multiple elements into a cohesive image. The tool supports the integration of up to 14 images simultaneously, permitting complex scenes constructed from various sources. This capability expands creative possibilities for users seeking to merge disparate visuals into unified designs.
Editing options provide granular control over generated images. Users select specific parts of an image for modification, including adjustments to camera angles for altered perspectives. Focus can be shifted to emphasize different areas, while color grading alters tonal balances. Lighting changes allow transitions from daytime scenes to nighttime equivalents, simulating environmental shifts without recreating entire images.
To promote transparency, images produced by Nano Banana Pro embed C2PA metadata. This standard facilitates the detection of generative AI content or deepfakes by embedding verifiable information about the image’s origin. TikTok has announced its adoption of this metadata to improve labeling of AI-generated content on its platform, where current detection methods fall short in accuracy.
Access to Nano Banana Pro remains free for all users, though free accounts face a daily quota on image generations. Subscribers to Google AI, Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans receive expanded quotas, enabling higher volume usage. The tool activates through the Gemini app by selecting the “Thinking” model for image creation. Certain subscribers can also utilize it within Google Search and NotebookLM interfaces.
