Undoubtedly, AI is already altering the world and raising important questions for society, the economy, and governance. “The Essential AI Handbook for Leaders“ is a book that tells us about the potential of AI, explains its fundamental principles, and teaches us how to get value from it.

The book is organized into three sections. The first reveals the possibilities of AI and how we can use it for business and society. The second explains the fundamentals of AI and how it works. The third presents how we can operationalize AI in the business world.

This book will be interesting for technical specialists and IT entrepreneurs, and all people who look into the future with great curiosity where high tech and AI, in particular, will play a significant role. It gives us examples of actual AI usage by people from a wide variety of professions – whether it’s a school teacher who applies an AI system to automatically correct and grade tests or a restaurant owner whose AI model can accurately predict his monthly sales.

Stay Ahead of the Curve!

Don't miss out on the latest insights, trends, and analysis in the world of data, technology, and startups. Subscribe to our newsletter and get exclusive content delivered straight to your inbox.

A particular part of the book is dedicated to the subject of data. “If computing power is AI’s engine and algorithms are its design, then data is its fuel.” What is the difference between supervised and unsupervised data? What are the main current problems with data and its collection? These are the questions that the author raises and gives us his vision of its solutions.

If you’re the owner of an organization, you can find a helpful AI checklist with five steps to explore, devise, and implement a successful AI strategy for your business at the end of the book.

What you won’t find in this book, however, is any instruction on what courses are available, and how to get started in Python, R, AI engineering, development, or other deep-dive technical aspects of artificial intelligence. Fortunately, we already covered some of the best resources, workshops, and certifications previously at Dataconomy, so bear that in mind when reading this, and make sure you continue your experience with those additional resources.

I’d also recommend you to pay special attention to the illustrations that clearly show complex processes and facilitate your understanding of them. For instance, the process of training AI models with the example of walrus recognition.

I’d like to finish the review of this book quoting Marcus Wallenberg: “At the end of the day, it is not technology that creates success; it is people. It is leaders that take the right decisions based on the most accurate data, insights, and their ability to work with the best people. It is the ones who do this faster than the competition that will succeed.”

This book inspires hope and emphasizes that AI can only take us to a completely new level of efficiency and productivity in tandem with human intelligence.
