JBL introduced two AI-powered practice amplifiers, the BandBox Solo and BandBox Trio, on January 22, 2026. These devices feature onboard Stem AI technology, enabling the isolation or removal of vocals and instruments from music streamed via Bluetooth.
The BandBox Solo, priced at $250, includes a single guitar/microphone input, while the BandBox Trio, priced at $600, offers up to four instrument inputs. The Trio model provides additional onboard controls and an LCD, reducing reliance on the companion application.
Both models integrate with the JBL One app, which provides filters for modern and vintage amplifier models, along with effects such as phaser, chorus, reverb, a pitch shifter, and a tuner. A built-in looper function is planned for a software update in October.
The BandBox Solo offers up to six hours of battery life. The BandBox Trio provides up to 10 hours of battery life and features a replaceable battery, allowing for extended use with a spare battery.
Pre-orders for the BandBox Solo and BandBox Trio commenced on JBL’s website upon announcement. Shipments and third-party retail availability for both models are scheduled for March 1.
