Bluetti unveiled the Charger 2 at CES 2026 to enable simultaneous power draw from a vehicle’s engine and solar panels for charging portable batteries during off-roading trips.

The original Charger addressed the need to top up batteries while driving by connecting to the vehicle’s alternator. Users could draw energy from the engine to ensure portable batteries reached full capacity upon arrival at a campsite. This setup proved useful for off-roading scenarios where power demands required reliable recharging en route.

The Charger 2 introduces a dual-input architecture that accepts power from both sources at once, resolving the limitation of the first model. It draws up to 600 W from solar panels and 800 W from the engine. This combined input charges batteries significantly faster than the original Charger. Bluetti states the device operates 13 times faster than a standard car charger.

The Charger 2 supports management of multiple Bluetti power stations and expansion batteries. This capability accommodates setups where power needs extend beyond a single unit, allowing scalable charging for larger systems during extended outdoor activities.

The system intelligently detects and manages energy sources based on availability. It selects the appropriate input and switches between engine and solar power as conditions change, optimizing charging efficiency without manual intervention.

Users can also employ the Charger 2 to jump-start a vehicle’s engine when necessary, providing an additional utility for roadside assistance in remote locations.

Existing owners of the Charger 1 can upgrade seamlessly. The process involves swapping the old unit for the new one using the same cabling, avoiding the need to handle greasy wires or rewire the setup.
