At CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 5, 2026, JBL launched three new models in its Quantum gaming headset series: the flagship Quantum 950X, mid-range Quantum 650X, and entry-level Quantum 250, featuring advanced 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers for precise audio across platforms.

The JBL Quantum series expansion targets gamers at every level with distinct options. The Quantum 950X serves as the flagship, engineered for competitive precision, comfort, and control in climbing leaderboards or exploring cinematic worlds. The Quantum 650X provides versatile wireless performance, while the Quantum 250 offers reliable wired simplicity. Each model incorporates powerful 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers, spatial sound capabilities, clear communication tools, and varied designs with connectivity choices suited to different setups and playstyles.

The Quantum 950X integrates premium sound technologies. Its 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers produce Hi-Res Certified Audio characterized by ultra-low distortion and enhanced high-frequency response. These drivers capture subtle in-game audio cues, such as footsteps, reloads, and positional shifts, which other headsets often overlook. This precision, previously found in elite in-ear monitors, adapts for immersive over-ear gaming experiences.

Software enhancements power the Quantum 950X through the redesigned JBL QuantumENGINE. This platform enables JBL Quantum Spatial Sound, 3D head tracking, and active noise cancellation. Spatial Sound creates a heightened sense of immersion, 3D head tracking adjusts audio based on head movement, and active noise cancellation blocks external distractions to maintain focus during gameplay.

Comfort defines the Quantum 950X for extended sessions. A patented hammock headband distributes weight evenly across the head, creating a lightweight feel. Breathable memory-foam ear cushions prevent overheating as sessions intensify. The design uses lightweight materials, and components remain fully replaceable, including the microphone, cushions, cables, and hammock headband, supporting long-term use.

Voice communication receives upgrades in the Quantum 950X with a 6 mm cardioid boom microphone equipped with AI Noise Reduction. This technology isolates the user’s voice from surrounding noise, ensuring clarity for streaming, team coordination across platforms, or casual chats. The microphone delivers reliable performance in multiplayer scenarios.

Convenience features distinguish the Quantum 950X. A hot-swappable dual battery system allows continuous play by exchanging batteries without interruption. The included wireless Base Station functions as a low-latency 2.4 GHz receiver and a control hub for lighting effects and audio settings. These elements combine for uninterrupted operation.

Connectivity options on the Quantum 950X span multiple platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices. Users select from 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, or wired connections. This flexibility supports gaming, content creation, and competition without compatibility limitations.

The JBL Quantum 650X mirrors key flagship elements in a more accessible form. It employs the same 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers and JBL Quantum Spatial Sound for detailed audio reproduction. Connectivity matches the 950X with 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, and wired modes, enabling performance across PC, consoles, and other platforms without restrictions.

Designed for plug-and-play operation, the JBL Quantum 250 focuses on wired connectivity compatible with PC, Mac, consoles, and mobile devices. Its lightweight construction and comfortable fit pair with a modern, modular design. The headset includes 50 mm precision drivers, making it suitable for daily gaming, streaming sessions, or voice calls.

All models in the new JBL Quantum series feature a fresh aesthetic with next-level comfort and elite audio precision. The lineup emphasizes high-frequency driver technology and design elements tailored to various gamer types, from competitive players to casual users.

“No competitor offers this level of acoustic technology,” said Carsten Olesen, President of Consumer Audio at HARMAN. “Our expertise in audio innovation shines through in the new JBL Quantum headsets and the redesigned JBL QuantumENGINE software. We have developed professional-level gaming audio and made it accessible to everyone.”

Availability begins with the JBL Quantum 250 on JBL.com in March 2026. The JBL Quantum 950X and Quantum 650X follow with launches in April 2026. These dates provide structured access to the series for consumers worldwide.
