Over 100 shows with existing licensing agreements could depart Netflix in 2026, according to a list compiled by What’s on Netflix.
While Netflix Originals often signify content produced by the streamer or under exclusive licensing, their availability is not indefinite. This potential departure encompasses a range of titles, including animated series, comedy specials, and films.
Specific titles slated for removal include seasons one through three of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants on January 9, seasons one through five of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on February 21, and Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon franchise shows on November 24. Also listed are the comedy special Demetri Martin: Demetri Deconstructed on April 2, and the Dutch thriller The Resistance Banker on March 11.
The potential removal of seasons one through five of Arrested Development on March 15, 2026, highlights that not all titles may ultimately leave the platform as planned. Arrested Development, including its Netflix-produced seasons, was scheduled for removal in March 2023, but Netflix secured a deal with 20th Century Studios to retain it, Vulture reported. Other series may experience similar renegotiations, or migrate to alternative streaming services; for example, the Originals series Caliphate left Netflix in September 2025 and subsequently became available on Amazon Prime.
