ChromeOS 143 has officially rolled out, delivering an update focused primarily on administrative tools and enterprise functionality rather than consumer-facing features. The new version significantly enhances printer management by allowing IT administrators to control USB-connected devices via Vendor and Product IDs. Additionally, admins can now pre-configure specific print settings—such as paper size, color, and DPI—to streamline workflows in industries like healthcare and logistics.
For managed users in school or business environments, Google’s AI-powered video creation tool, Google Vids, now comes pre-installed in the ChromeOS Launcher. The update also includes a usability tweak for the Japanese virtual keyboard, adding a direct toggle between Kana and Romaji input modes. Looking ahead, release notes hint that ChromeOS 145 will introduce “Badge Authentication” to facilitate easier login for frontline workers.
