TikTok launched two new sharing features, Shared Feed and Shared Collections, which allow users to share curated video content and saved video lists via direct messaging.
These updates expand the platform’s social functionalities, enabling collaborative content discovery among users.
Shared Feed
The Shared Feed feature provides a daily collection of 15 videos, curated based on TikTok activity. This feed is shareable via direct message invitations, and participants can leave discussions at any time. It also includes a dashboard for viewing Shared Like history. TikTok stated this offers a “new way to discover content together.” The Shared Feed will roll out globally in the coming months.
Shared Collections
The Shared Collections tool is available globally now for users over the age of 16. This feature allows users to collect, organize, and share groups of saved videos. To use Shared Collections, users save a video, create a collection, and then send the list to a recipient via direct message. Both users must follow each other to access a shared collection.
Additionally, TikTok plans to introduce themed holiday cards for direct messaging, which will be available globally later this month.
