Xiaomi has prepared to introduce the 17 Ultra later this month in China, and new images have emerged providing an early look at the phone’s possible design. Spy shots shared on Weibo suggest meaningful changes to its camera system.
The leaked images, believed to show the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, display a device concealed in a protective case. The visible camera layout confirms a shift from the circular module of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
The design indicates a more compact yet densely arranged setup with three visible sensors. One sensor appears to be a periscope telephoto lens, accompanied by a flash and additional openings for secondary sensors.
Recent reports detail the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s rumored triple rear camera unit:
- Primary Sensor: 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor, possibly the OmniVision OV50X
- Telephoto Lens: 200-megapixel periscope
- Ultra-wide Shooter: 50-megapixel
This configuration would mark a change from the quad-camera system of its predecessor. The leaked image shows the device in black with a metal frame and exposed screw cutouts, though the appearance of the final retail model remains unclear. Rumors suggest the phone may feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process, and a battery capacity ranging from 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh.
