Superhuman, an AI-powered email application acquired by Grammarly earlier this year, has introduced updates to its Superhuman Mail app, expanding AI capabilities across multiple interfaces to enhance productivity for business users.
The core enhancement involves the “write with AI” feature, previously limited to email drafting. This tool now operates throughout the inbox, calendar, and web environments. It retrieves relevant information from existing emails or conducts online research to generate responses. The AI processes prompts by considering them for the necessary duration before producing output. If additional details are required, it automatically activates the Ask AI tool for further interaction.
Ask AI has been repositioned in a left sidebar on desktop platforms, ensuring constant availability. Users can employ it to draft notes, pose questions, or schedule meetings directly, bypassing the need to search through email threads. This integration streamlines workflows by keeping the feature readily accessible during routine tasks.
Access to Ask AI conversation history is now possible on both iOS and desktop devices. This allows users to review prior interactions, facilitating continuity in ongoing projects or queries. The “write with AI” functionality has extended to Android devices, with the remaining updates scheduled for imminent rollout on this platform.
Following the acquisition, Grammarly underwent a rebranding effort. All of its AI applications, including the email service, now operate under the Superhuman brand. The service primarily serves business professionals rather than individual consumers. Advanced iterations of “write with AI” and Ask AI are bundled within Business and Enterprise subscription plans. A standard, more basic version of “write with AI” is included in the Starter plan, accessible on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Superhuman plans to release additional agentic updates in the coming period, building on these current developments.
