Amazon is offering three months of free access to Amazon Music Unlimited for new subscribers following its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. This promotion allows users to try the premium music streaming service without initial cost, with automatic renewal afterward.
The deal targets individuals who have not previously subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited. Upon signing up, users receive the three-month trial period at no charge. The subscription then automatically renews at the standard rate of $12 per month for non-Prime members or $11 per month for Amazon Prime subscribers. Users retain the option to cancel the subscription at any point during the trial, ensuring no charges apply if cancellation occurs before the free period concludes.
Amazon Music Unlimited includes lossless audio streaming for higher quality playback and access to podcasts. The service integrates seamlessly with Amazon’s expanding range of Alexa-enabled devices, enhancing usability within the Amazon ecosystem. These devices, such as Echo speakers and smart displays, facilitate voice-controlled music playback and control.
Relative to competitors like Apple Music and Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited presents a user interface that some describe as less intuitive. It receives feedback for limitations in music discovery and personalized curation features. Over time, the application has undergone updates to address these areas, including the addition of an annual listening summary feature similar to Spotify Wrapped, which recaps users’ top tracks, artists, and genres from the year.
Earlier this year, Amazon increased prices for Amazon Music Unlimited, positioning it as more costly than Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Tidal for subscribers without an Amazon Prime membership. In comparison, a Spotify Premium Individual plan matches the $12 monthly price of Amazon Music Unlimited for non-Prime users. Spotify currently provides a four-month free trial for individuals who have never subscribed to its Premium service previously.
