Samsung and Turkish Airlines launched the Smart Tagged Baggage Service today, allowing passengers to track lost luggage via SmartThings Find.

This service facilitates locating lost or delayed baggage for Turkish Airlines passengers. Users place a Galaxy SmartTag in their luggage. If luggage is misplaced, passengers can send a link containing location data from their SmartTag when reporting the lost item to Turkish Airlines.

The SmartThings Find application includes a “Change Device Image” feature. This allows users to upload a photograph of their specific bag, aiding in identification should luggage be misplaced.

SmartThings Find utilizes both Bluetooth Low Energy and ultra-wideband technology. This technology operates within a network exceeding 700 million Galaxy devices. Samsung intends to extend collaborations for the Smart Tagged Baggage Service to additional airlines.
