Accenture and OpenAI partner on ChatGPT Enterprise integration

Under the agreement, Accenture plans to provide ChatGPT Enterprise to tens of thousands of its professionals.

Accenture and OpenAI announced a partnership to integrate agentic AI capabilities into enterprise operations. The collaboration equips Accenture’s professionals with ChatGPT Enterprise and launches a client program to scale AI adoption across businesses worldwide.

Under the agreement, Accenture plans to provide ChatGPT Enterprise to tens of thousands of its professionals. This deployment supports their work in consulting, operations, and delivery. The initiative allows Accenture to incorporate OpenAI’s technology directly into daily processes. By doing so, Accenture gains practical experience that it applies to assist clients in scaling their own AI implementations. OpenAI benefits from this large-scale use, which helps refine and expand its enterprise-ready features based on real-world feedback from Accenture’s global teams.

The partnership includes extensive upskilling efforts. Accenture’s professionals will undergo OpenAI Certifications, forming the largest cohort of certified users to date. This training ensures that staff can effectively utilize ChatGPT Enterprise across various functions. The certifications cover technical proficiency in OpenAI’s tools, enabling seamless integration into enterprise environments. Through this, Accenture positions OpenAI as one of its primary AI partners for developing next-generation AI-powered services.

Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, stated, “By combining OpenAI’s breakthrough technologies with Accenture’s deep industry and functional expertise and global delivery capabilities, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and business outcomes for our clients.” She added, “We are also excited to help OpenAI become its own best credential.”

Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, commented, “Accenture plays an important role in helping companies adopt the technologies that define each new era, and we’re excited to partner with them to accelerate the AI transformation of the largest enterprises.” Simo further noted, “In addition, Accenture is now putting ChatGPT in the hands of tens of thousands of its professionals to help teams and clients move faster, strengthen their workflows, and generate real economic value.”

To extend the partnership’s reach, Accenture and OpenAI introduced a flagship AI client program. This program merges OpenAI’s enterprise products, including advanced models and workflows, with Accenture’s AI expertise and domain knowledge in specific industries and functions. Participants receive OpenAI implementation playbooks that outline step-by-step deployment strategies. Industry use-cases provide tailored examples for sectors like retail, finance, and manufacturing. Security and deployment insights address data protection and infrastructure requirements. Hands-on expertise from joint teams offers direct support for integration.

The program focuses on developing enterprise solutions for key corporate functions. These include customer service, where AI agents handle inquiries; supply chain, for optimizing logistics; finance, to streamline reporting; and human resources, for automating recruitment processes. Other critical operations, such as procurement and compliance, also receive targeted applications. Accenture employs OpenAI’s AgentKit within this framework. AgentKit enables clients to design custom AI agents quickly. These agents test scenarios in controlled environments before full deployment. The tools automate repetitive workflows, such as data entry or report generation. They augment decision-making by analyzing large datasets in real time. Overall, they facilitate organizational reinvention through efficient, scalable AI solutions.

The flagship program’s objective centers on enabling joint clients to adopt OpenAI’s agentic capabilities more rapidly. Agentic AI refers to systems that act autonomously to complete tasks. This adoption involves deeper integration across organizational units, from front-office roles to back-end systems. The program supports innovative products, ongoing model advancements, and new workflow designs tailored to enterprise needs.

This collaboration builds on OpenAI’s established relationships with major enterprises. Previous partners include Walmart, which uses AI for inventory management; Salesforce, integrating AI into CRM platforms; PayPal, enhancing fraud detection; Intuit, improving tax software; Target, optimizing retail operations; Thermo Fisher, advancing scientific research; BNY, for financial services; Morgan Stanley, in investment analysis; BBVA, for banking innovations; and numerous others. These experiences inform the current initiative, providing proven models for broader AI deployment.
