TikTok announced on Monday its first-ever awards show in the United States, set for December 18 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, to recognize top creators and artists through categories like Creator of the Year and live performances.
The awards encompass various categories, including Creator of the Year, Video of the Year, Muse of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. This launch follows Instagram’s introduction of its Ring awards program several weeks earlier. TikTok’s event differs by featuring a full live awards ceremony where winners receive announcements onstage. The production includes a red carpet arrival area, performances by artists, and an in-person audience consisting of hundreds of creators attending the venue.
The Hollywood Palladium serves as the location for the December 18 event in Los Angeles. Broadcasting occurs via livestream on the TikTok mobile application and the Tubi streaming platform simultaneously. Following the live airing, the full show becomes available for on-demand viewing exclusively on Tubi starting the next day. Participation in selecting winners extends to users through a dedicated voting portal on TikTok, which activates on November 18 and allows selections across multiple categories.
Prior to this United States debut, TikTok organized comparable awards ceremonies in international markets. These past events took place in countries such as Germany, Mexico, and Korea, among others, recognizing local creators and content in similar formats. The expansion to the U.S. market builds on this established tradition of honoring platform contributors through structured award programs.
For the Creator of the Year category, the nominees consist of adamw, alixearle, brookemonk_, keith_lee125, and kristy.sarah. Each of these individuals has produced content that garnered significant engagement on the platform. In the Breakthrough Artist of the Year category, the nominees are alexwarren, katseyeworld, laufey, ravynlenae, and sombr, representing emerging musical and artistic talents who gained prominence via TikTok videos.
Additional categories cover diverse aspects of content creation and impact. These include Storyteller of the Year, which acknowledges narrative-driven videos; TikTok for Good Award, focused on positive social contributions; MVP of the Year, highlighting versatile performers; Okay Slay Award, celebrating standout style and execution; and TikTok LIVE Creators of the Year, recognizing live streaming excellence. Other categories appear in the complete roster. The entire selection of awards and all nominees resides in TikTok’s official announcement post on the platform.
TikTok serves as a platform where numerous emerging artists and actors first achieve visibility. The company hosts this branded show to celebrate leading users. In the announcement post, TikTok stated, “The trophies presented on stage will beam a colorful glow upon the creators defining this new era of culture encompassing many areas, including fashion, beauty, sports, TV and film, and new forms of entertainment.”
