Google has redesigned the Quick Share application for Windows, following an earlier overhaul of the Android version. Android Authority identified the changes, which include an updated settings menu and simplified sharing interface. The redesign deploys through version 1.0.2351.1.
The redesign introduces an Expressive-style settings menu in the Quick Share app for Windows. This menu organizes settings into boxed groups, such as device name and visibility options. Line separators divide each individual entry within these groups. These visual adjustments aim to improve the organization and accessibility of the settings.
On the left side of the main menu, the sharing section has undergone simplification. It now includes a header that reads “who can share with you.” This change streamlines the presentation of sharing controls and options for users.
The revised user interface rolls out with version 1.0.2351.1 of Quick Share for Windows. However, users running this version may not immediately see the redesign. The author, who operates this version, has not yet received the updated interface. This indicates a staggered release schedule, meaning the visual tweaks could take time to appear on individual PCs.
This Windows redesign arrives several months after Google overhauled Quick Share for Android. The Android update added separate screens for receiving and sending files. In contrast, the Windows version does not implement this tabbed approach for handling file transfers between sending and receiving functions.
