Amazon unveiled its revamped Amazon Luna game-streaming service on Thursday, which is now available to Prime members at no extra cost. The update introduces beginner-friendly multiplayer games that can be controlled using a smartphone, designed to support social gaming sessions.

The most significant change is the addition of GameNight, a collection of more than 25 local multiplayer games. Amazon states this new feature is “designed to bring friends and family together in the living room.” This library emphasizes phone-controlled gameplay, enabling users to participate without needing dedicated gaming hardware. By offering these accessible multiplayer titles, Amazon positions Luna as an option for social gatherings and game nights among its Prime members.

GameNight will feature exclusive titles developed by Amazon Game Studios, beginning with “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg.” This title is an AI-voice-driven improv courtroom game where players invent absurd characters, create wild stories, and defend their testimonies in front of Judge Snoop Dogg. Other games available in the GameNight library include “Angry Birds Flock Party,” “Draw & Guess,” “The Jackbox Party Pack 9,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Exploding Kittens 2,” “Clue,” and “Tetris Effect: Connected.”

Jeff Gattis, general manager of Amazon Luna, stated in a press release, “GameNight takes even further the idea of easy access that’s core to the new Luna, delivering a collection of incredibly fun and approachable games that absolutely shine when played together with friends and family.” He added, “Anyone with a smartphone can dive right in and have a blast, regardless of their gaming abilities.”

Separate from the GameNight collection, the revamped Luna also includes access to other new titles, blockbusters, and indie games. These additions include “Hogwarts Legacy,” “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II,” and “TopSpin 2K25.” As was the case before the service update, these games, and all others outside the GameNight library, require a controller or a mouse and keyboard to play.

For players who want access to a larger library, Amazon offers a Luna Premium subscription for $9.99 a month. This tier, which was previously named Luna+, provides access to an expanded catalog of titles. The games included with the premium subscription feature “EA SPORTS FC 25,” “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight.”
