HBO Max has increased prices for all subscription plans, effective October 21, 2025. The Warner Bros. Discovery service last raised prices in June 2024, with this change coming amid similar moves by other major streaming platforms.
The price adjustments apply to both monthly and annual subscriptions across all tiers. The new rates are as follows:
- Basic with Ads: $10.99 per month (an increase of $1) or $109.99 per year (an increase of $10).
- Standard: $18.49 per month (an increase of $1.50) or $184.99 per year (an increase of $15).
- Premium: $22.99 per month (an increase of $2) or $229.99 per year (an increase of $20).
Existing subscribers will see the price change on their first billing cycle on or after November 20, 2025. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had previously hinted at the hike, stating that he believed HBO Max was underpriced relative to the quality of its content.
This increase follows recent raises by competitors including Disney+, Hulu, and Apple’s streaming services. Zaslav also announced plans to implement a crackdown on password sharing for the service, a strategy that aligns with policies already in place at other platforms like Netflix and Disney+.
