Apple announced release details for new Vision Pro accessories, including support for PlayStation VR2 controllers and a Logitech digital pen. The news coincides with the device’s internal upgrade from the new M5 chip for an enhanced experience.
The Vision Pro is receiving an internal upgrade from the M2 to the new M5 chip, though this does not require existing customers to purchase an all-new headset. Apple also provided a timeline for third-party controller integration, first revealed at WWDC in June. The visionOS 26 operating system will support Sony’s PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, a feature not yet activated. Apple confirmed it will sell the controllers and a charging station, stating, “PlayStation VR2 Sense controller and Controller Charging Station will be available for $249.95 (U.S.) from the Apple Store online in the U.S. beginning Tuesday, November 11.” This release schedule suggests a visionOS 26 update will precede the hardware availability. Sony currently includes the controllers with its PlayStation VR2 headset and sells the charging station separately.
The Logitech Muse digital pen, a new spatial accessory for visionOS, is scheduled to arrive next week for digital illustration and interaction. Apple announced details of its availability, stating, “Logitech Muse is now available to pre-order for $129.95 (U.S.) from logitech.com and the Apple Store online in countries where Apple Vision Pro is available.” The pen will begin shipping on Wednesday, October 22, alongside the M5-equipped Apple Vision Pro and the new Dual Knit Band.
Logitech describes the Muse as a spatial accessory for enhancing creative and professional workflows with Apple Vision Pro. It combines a familiar form factor with advanced technology to offer a precise, immersive workflow in productivity and creativity apps. The device features seamless motion tracking in six degrees of freedom, which, with intuitive controls, allows users to draw, annotate, and interact naturally in space. The Muse incorporates real-time haptic responses to add textural realism to the experience. A pressure-sensitive tip and a force-sensing button enable users to vary line thickness when drawing on a surface or in the air.
The new Dual Knit Band, which is standard with the M5 Vision Pro, is now sold separately for $99 for existing M2 model owners. Apple describes the strap as providing “lasting comfort and stability,” with a design that incorporates soft, breathable upper and lower straps in a counterbalanced structure. Its dual-function Fit Dial allows for independent adjustment of each strap to achieve a personalized fit. The band connects to the headset’s Audio Straps using a “simple and secure mechanism” and includes release tabs for quick detachment when needed.
The Vision Pro hardware and accessory announcements occurred as part of a larger product update from Apple. On the same day, the company also introduced new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models, both of which are equipped with the new M5 chip.
