Apple is preparing to release iOS 26.0.2, its second corrective update for the operating system launched to the public approximately one month ago. The release is expected soon after a report from MacRumors indicated that Apple engineers are internally testing the software, which has been spotted in analytics logs.
The appearance of iOS 26.0.2 in analytics data has historically preceded an imminent public rollout. While the company has not released official patch notes, the update is anticipated to contain a standard round of bug fixes, security patches, and general improvements. It will mark the second bug-fix update for the iOS 26 platform.
The update will likely provide performance improvements and fixes for issues that users have reported following the “Liquid Glass” redesign. The previous update, iOS 26.0.1, was released last month and specifically addressed a number of bugs affecting the iPhone 17 models. A release for iOS 26.0.2 is projected to occur within the next one to two weeks.
Further out, Apple is also developing iOS 26.1, which is currently in beta and expected to be released by the end of the month. One of the notable features being tested in the iOS 26.1 beta is a new swipe gesture for use within the Apple Music application.
