HMD is preparing a second-generation version of the Nokia 800 Tough, a rugged feature phone first released in 2019. According to a tipster on X, the updated model will feature specific hardware and software improvements over the original device.
Key upgrades include the replacement of the original micro-USB port with a modern USB-C connector for charging and data transfer. The phone’s operating system will also be updated from KaiOS 2.5.2 to KaiOS 3.1. The physical design of the refreshed Nokia 800 Tough is expected to be virtually identical to its predecessor, retaining the same dimensions and near-identical look. The phone will likely keep its established durability features, including IP68 ingress protection and compliance with the MIL-STD-810 military-grade standard. HMD has not yet announced an official release date or pricing information for the updated model.
