OnePlus has announced it will launch OxygenOS 16 on October 16, 2025, with the initial rollout beginning in India. The new operating system is based on Android 16 and is set to introduce a series of enhancements and new functionalities.

Key features of the update center on improved privacy, security, and performance. A significant focus is placed on artificial intelligence, with the integration of native Gemini support into OnePlus AI. This enhancement enables the system to perform contextual tasks, such as automatically generating a travel itinerary using data saved by the user in applications like Mindspace. OxygenOS 16 will also incorporate various design and user interface tweaks intended to create a more polished user experience.

The update will first become available for the OnePlus 13 series, which includes the OnePlus 13, 13R, and 13S models. These devices have already concluded their beta testing phase for the new software. At the time of the announcement, OnePlus did not provide a comprehensive list of all eligible devices that will receive the update, nor was a detailed changelog released beyond the specified AI and user interface improvements.
