Apple is nearing mass production for its next-generation M5-powered MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models, along with new Mac monitors, according to a report from Bloomberg. The products are anticipated for release between the end of this year and the first quarter of next year.

The report details several specific devices approaching this production phase. The M5-based MacBook Pro lineup is identified by the internal codenames J714 and J716. Concurrently, the M5-powered MacBook Air models are designated as J813 and J815. In addition to the notebooks, Apple is preparing two new 27-inch Mac monitors, codenamed J427 and J527. While further details on both displays are limited, the report specified that at least one of these new monitors will be a refresh of the existing Studio Display. These devices are all part of the same production and release timeline, indicating a significant hardware update cycle is in preparation.

The projected launch window for these M5-based Macs and new monitors is set for a period spanning from the end of 2025 through the first quarter of 2026. While the progression toward mass production suggests development is at an advanced stage, the report clarifies this does not guarantee a launch before the end of this year. An October or November release is considered unlikely. The information does, however, note a slight possibility that these products could appear earlier than a previously predicted Q1 2026 timeframe, though no firm revised date was provided.

Separately from the M5 Mac lineup, the report indicates that new iPad Pro and Vision Pro models are expected to debut soon, with their production already underway. Further information suggests M5-powered versions of the iPad Pro and Vision Pro are also anticipated by the end of the year. Other product updates expected within the same timeframe include refreshes for the Apple TV and the HomePod mini, though specifics on these updates were not detailed.

Looking ahead to 2026, Apple is also planning to launch a different set of products during the first half of the year. This release schedule, which is projected for the spring, includes a new iPhone 17e model. The company also intends to introduce a new budget-tier iPad and an updated iPad Air. The report specified that the forthcoming iPad Air will likely be powered by an M4 chip, distinguishing it from the M5 systems slated for the earlier release window.
